On a beautiful warm summer evening, club members and several guests gathered at the Naval Support Facility at 3569 Galway Rd Milton to celebrate the past Rotary year. An outstanding meal was catered by Spartan Catering.
President Beth called all of the incoming officers present to come forward for their oath of office.
The first big event of the evening was to thank and congratulate President Beth for an outstanding year of leadership and accomplishment. Jon Costolo presented her with the Past Presidents display case plaque and a framed document containing her name added to the names of all past Rotary presidents. Darlene came forward with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, followed by incoming president, Silas, with flowers of his own. Thanks, Beth, for an outstanding year. Well done!
The name of the BHBL ROTARIAN OF THE YEAR was revealed next. Darlene and Gini shared the fun of listing the many qualities and attributes of this very deserving person, holding back the actual name until the very end of their presentation. It was greeted with cheers and applause, clearly a popular choice with the entire club. They mentioned that Pete Parker had been nominated by four different club members!
Then the time came for President Beth to hand over the presidential gavel to our new president Silas, wishing him well. Good luck, President Silas.
