You are invited to a community weeding party at the Town of Ballston Community Library on Tuesday, July 26, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Susan VanSlyke has agreed to be our “Crew Boss” and answer questions about what plants need to be pulled or divided. Feel free to come for one hour or three, whatever you can manage, and bring a friend. The needs of the very front gardens will accommodate 4-6 workers, and extra crew can work on the foundation plantings around the building.
We will be attacking heavily overgrown weeds so we suggest bringing shovels, hoes, work gloves, water bottle, and whatever your favorite weeding tools are. Construction buckets for gathering the weeds might be useful. Rebecca Darling is arranging for a town truck to be dropped off to accommodate our weeds and organic waste.
Should be fun and immensely satisfying to restore these gardens to a state of tranquil beauty. If you know of students who need volunteer hours for Honor Society, share the news.
Please let me know if you can join us. Thanks so much.
